Professional Experience

Edward A. “Ted” Hosp is a shareholder in the Birmingham office of Maynard, Cooper & Gale. His practice focuses on complex litigation, insurance litigation and regulation, government relations, and class action litigation. He is also a member of the firm’s Government Affairs, Economic Development, and White Collar Criminal Defense groups. From 1999 to 2003 Mr. Hosp served as Legal Advisor to the Governor of Alabama.

Mr. Hosp was elected into the Order of the Coif while attending Fordham University School of Law. Following law school, he clerked for the Honorable Harold Albritton, United States District Judge for the Middle District of Alabama. Since 2003, Mr. Hosp has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Alabama School of Law on the subject of government ethics and public corruption law, including Alabama’s campaign finance laws. He is also the Vice-Chair of the State Bar’s Committee on Access to Legal Services. Ted and his wife Betsy live in Birmingham with their three children, Andrew, Jordan and James.
